I realize this one is way out there... Does anyone have any experience with a red banded grubfish? I wasn't able to find out a lot of information other than it's a sand dweller and eats small crustaceans.

My LFS got one in and reportedly it's been somewhat aggressive with some dartfish.

I've kept the larger Japanese grubfish, Parapercis multifasciata and Parapercis aurantiaca. They get ich pretty easily, but I've never had flukes issues with them. I kept these in with a number of other species and never had an issue, but never something as small as themselves.

Did they have any problems taking non-living foods ie pellets and flakes?
I never tried pellets or flakes on my Japanese species - at 15 cm, they seemed to large for that. They ate diced seafoods very well.

I'd never heard the grubfish common name, but I knew I recognized the genus. I kept a red spot sandperch, P. schauinslandii for a while. Awesome fish. Great personality, and ate well. I did try to add a black cap basslet after I'd had the sandperch for a couple years, and it killed the basslet. This was in a 90 gallon with a yellow tang, Pearlscale buttefly, flame angel, pink spot goby, fuzzy lion if I'm remembering correctly...and I'm probably forgetting something.
