I have a torch coral that has been in my tank a month or so. I noticed today that the base has a red coloring to it. Is this a concern?

Hi , IMO ,yes is concern , orange sponge, can irritate tissue, cause recession ,grow under tissue causing tissue to lift away from skeleton, would remove from tank, gently scrub off sponge in SW

Mission Accomplished! I had a small angled pick that I used to scrape off the orange sponge from the calcified hard base of the torch. Only took about ten minutes as I gently rubbed and picked at the sponge. The torch is back in the tank and only mildly upset with me for taking him out.
