Hello all,

So, this past weekend, I bought a red Big Polyp Blasto...this piece is awesome! I love the coloring under my LED's. The amazing thing is: it appears that there are 3 tiny heads growing on the stalk directly under the big head (about an inch now). First of all, is this usual or did I get a special specimen and second, it would be awesome if I can make additional frags from this...I do not want to cut them off now because they are pretty small, but when they grow, can I just cut them off the stalk and glue them to a new piece of frag?

Thanks,

Greg

Get some reef putty or glue somethig of the sort n get it to right under the little polyps n make it like a dome shape. The next ones will grow onto it n so forth. N itll be easier to frag

Holy crap! I'm glad you posted this. I've had one just like this for about a year and it's never done anything. My power heads are really going right now and blowing the skirt around so I grabbed a flashlight and I see a baby!!!

That's a really good idea...thanks

Look closer, you may have more than you think...I only saw 3, but when looking closer, I now see about 5. Mind you, these are really tiny and a long way from fragging. I picked it up for only $15 from a very good, marine-concentrated LFS, so I feel I got a bargain

I've got a tube of the putty epoxy so I'm going to try it this weekend. I'll check then for additional babies. The one is about the size of an M&M.

These are so nice but they are the slowest growers I have ever seen. I have had mine for 1yr and it has put off 2 tiny little heads... Hopefully int 20yrs the frag will be worth lots! :)

I'm trying to get the main head to grow a little quicker than usual by target feeding just a little every other day with enriched Mysis and brine and also plankton

I thought this was the BIG red Blasto..........

Yep, not sure if they rare but you don't see them very often.
I've this piece for three years now and it was a single head, now it has close to 40 on it.
Got it in a frag swap, yes when swaps were still swaps and not sales!

I heard that swaps where something in the past it's sad we thro one every qrt but instead of swap everything for sale and no swapping every happens . I think it just away to attract peps in
