^Yep, read humble's post about osmotic shock vs. bacterial infection.

Have you had the fish long?

Did you do a water change the day or so prior to the appearance of the blotches?

This is a common reaction of yellow tangs to osmotic shock.

I did a water change a week ago, last Sunday. I also started feeding nori on a veggie clip every other day and previously hadn't fed that in quite some time. I also noticed that my salinity had gotten higher then normal peaking at 35.2 ppm and my temperature had drifted higher then normal as well at 79.9 degrees. Normally the tank is held very stable at 78-79 degrees with a chiller unit and with a salinity of 33 ppm.
Could this be part of the issue?

I have also been treating the tank with chemiclean trying to clean up cyano

I also did another water change today (sunday) after already seeing the blotches on the tang though.

so I guess my question at this point is do I treat? or do I give it a couple days to see if it gets worse or better?

I have furan 2 on the shelf ready to go ... would that work if treatment is suggested?

I would wait it out. I always suggest having metroplex and kanaplex on hand as well just in case.

I do have Kanaplex on hand as well.

seems to be ever so slightly worse or the same today. How many day's should I go before deciding to treat if symptoms worsen or do not improve on their own?

I had a yellow with red on him. It went away on its own. Yours looks at a healthy weight .I would wait it out and keep feeding him plenty of nori.

How much worse? Pic? If it worsens I’d be treating for infection in QT
