Red branch

This red branch looking item has doubled in size over the last couple of weeks. It is now over an inch. Just curious what it is.

Is it soft and flexible or does it feel stoney? How large was it when you put it in the tank? Don't say 'half this size. Tell us how long it was in inches or cm so we can understand how much it grew.
