Red BTA stung my blasto BAD. Will it survive?

I was out of town for about five days at snowshoe, my nem decided to move/expand while I was gone and my once 14+ head of blasto has been reduced to a skeleton with about 3 heads (with chunks missing). What are the odds it can bounce back? I moved it to a similar light/flow spot. I'll add pics in a sec

If one head keeps healthy and fed right, that one could regrow flesh on the skeleton left. Not as quickly as a goniopora can. But, since the skeleton is already there. The blasto wouldn't need to focus on much other than reclaiming the skeleton.
I'd feed it 2 times a week once it resumes a normal appearance.

You would be surprised at how a Blasto can come back. It is possible for the Blasto to come back and flourish. I had a $5 Acan kill 1 of 2 heads on a $250 per head blasto, and now, it is over 30 heads.

meat corals fare well from sting but what you can do is add iodine (dont overdose) to water, reduce flow from the coral and attempt light feeding with brine shrimp. Its a good recovery chance . Pay attention to your calcium and magnesium at this point.
Theyre the ones that usually do the stinging.

Thank you Vette, the Iodine is what I was trying to remember to help. I would say to dip it in some sort of Iodine based dip. I didn't and mine recovered, but this was a good bit back and didn't know what Iodine can do to aid in recovery.

I would wait a few days to allow it to settle beforehand though. Dipping can also cause stress.

Thanks so much guys. I feed reefroids to all my LPS pretty regularly, and I'm optimistic. Also my tower of anenomes is getting thinned. It's a 50 gallon cube and 3 about 6+in BTA's dominate the left side of the tank. 2 are going back tomorrow. I started with 1 about 4in and it split and grew to this point.

Switch if you can to rods or other frozen coral foods, allow the fish to feed the corals and target feed your blasto mysis or brine shrimp. Occasional Reef roids feedings are fine but continuous can increase/elevate your phosphate even nitrate levels and make many corals unhappy
