Hey,
I have a red bubble tip anemone in my 260L mixed reef, and over the past few months it's just stopped growing, I have had it for nearly two years now, and it's been in my 360 for a year now (previously was in my 20 Gallon). After I moved it, it seemed to be doing well, and it split a few times, however maybe 6 months ago it split again, and hasn't grown back to its original size, staying relatively small, My clowns stopped hosting it around this time (in favor of my large Duncan coral), and recently it has developed bubble tips (which I'm not complaining about!), I'm just worried something is wrong with it, as it looked spectacular and really stood out before.

Does anyone know why it might not be growing? nothing major has changed in the tank, I'm using the same salt (Reef crystals) and feeding it Mysis shrimp every so often, the parameters are also as they should be... any suggestions?

Thanks :)
Ethan

P.s here's a picture of it when it was big, and one was taken today!

I thought splitting was not a good sign, and that it was survival mode.
If you can remove them I would closely inspect for harmful critters.

I dont know of anything specific to BTA but could be some kind of bacteria, algae, or bug.
Could even be the lightning.
The fact the clowns are not nesting anymore could be the reason, as they are not bringing their part of the food to the BTA as before.

You have a puzzle to solve.

highly doubt it. Why comment like that when you don't know?

You know what,
Just trying to help the person and give suguestions.
You have not offered anything other than an atempt to be argumentative with me.

So Mr slinger of rudeness, I have nothing further to say to you.
Have a nice day and please refrain from comments to me.
Best reguards.

I know your parameters are “where they should be”, but maybe someone in the group can help if you post them. Your “where” and others “where” can be quite different, and maybe not but let’s rule that one out first.
