Hey everyone! I just got a trade from a local hobbyist and the acro I got 100% has red bugs.

Do you think I should tell them that the acro they gave me has bugs? I know dipping is standard practice, and I don’t want to be rude, but I also want to tell them in case they don’t know.

what do you think? Just let it be or tell them they have bugs?

I’m tempted to toss it. I gave the cup a good shake and there was a flatworm in there too. If I had a separate system I’d dip it and then quarantine it for a while.

Having had major problems with Red Bugs requiring the entire large
system to be dosed with interceptor, IMO not worth it. Still hard to toss money in the trash can... but in some cases there is no alternative. I’d also let the seller know, they may have no idea of the infestation.

That’s kind of what I was thinking too. I dealt with AEFW last year and it was a nightmare trying to get rid of them.

I feel guilty throwing away a living coral tho.

first local trade and this is how it goes. Maybe with my luck I shouldn’t risk dipping and putting it in my display ha
