Red bumps on candy cane stalk

There are a few red bumps (appeared to be tiny spikes at first, but seem to have changed shape a bit) on the stalk of a candy cane coral. Tried to get a decent photo. Wondering if they are anything to worry about or part of the coral. TIA

Look like vermitids snails to me. Possibly anyway. I have several that look like that
