Please help me. My rocks are getting this redish/burgandy coating on them. Not sure what it is. All my parameters are in line.

can you brush it off ? If so ,it sounds like red slime algae. If so try to add more direct flow.

Well, I would vote for cyanobacteria, a red mat looking beast and usually referred to as "slime alage". You can get some cerith snails, blue hermits or scarlet hermits to take care of that along with siphoning it off with a small air hose. I usually siphon the algae into a filtersock so that I don't loose any water. (got that trick from Joey08!) This trick also works well for getting rid of brown flat worms! Good Luck and don't panic! the snails and crabs arnt going to do anything for it and siphoning will clean it up but doesnt solve the problem. if it is red slim there , it is there for one of two reason normaly. over feeding, lack of flow, and or both. what size tank and what are you using for flow?

1+ Look a little more into your problem. Inverts will not do it.

What type of water are u using, I know u said ur parameters are in check but about Phosphates?

If it is soft and easily "brushes" (of blows) off the rick then I say cyano.

On extremly fist way of "removing" it is to kill your lights for a few days. It dies off very fast.

Then macros in your sump can consume the nutrients instead of the cyano.

You can not brush this off. It is not slime algea. I have 75 gallon with a 600 koralia and an 800 koralia.

I tried scrapping it off but it does not comer off easily

Think I know what you are talking about. It grows very close to the rock and does not come off easily. It is not cyano. Feels a little slick to the touch.

Thats it. It is also on the Koralias as well. It almost seems like it is disappearing since I wrote this. Could it be the start of coralline.
