He looks to be transitioning at the very moment actuallyI have a large juvi. He should be transitioning soon. Like you said hard to photograph as he is always swimming so fast. I have him with a Formosa and Dragon Wrasse. They all get along so far and will be a nice trio of rock movers!
In the picture he’s by the Darwin Jawfish.

Great. He’s the first one I’ve been able to keep alive. I’ve heard they can be hard to acclimate. But he’s doing well. I’ve had him for a few weeks. He looks to be transitioning at the very moment actually
I would agree. You can see some of the stripes are diminishing, and the tell tale sign of polka dots starting along the anal fin.He looks to be transitioning at the very moment actually
Like your said they are never still! Here is a clip!I have my own red coris wrasse & it's absolutely amazing! It's too fast for me to snap a pic though. Does anyone have any pics of their coris wrasse that they want to share?
By the looks of that one, I would say he's about 80% transitioned. Still see some white stripes, and he doesn't have his full body color yet.Like your said they are never still! Here is a clip!
Yup, extremely close to being transitioned! The blue washout from my lousy camera doesn't help any but the color pop is pretty good @ this point.By the looks of that one, I would say he's about 80% transitioned. Still see some white stripes, and he doesn't have his full body color yet.
I also went through a few over the years. Had a coris in my 50g cube, lasted about a year then the six line began his reign of terror. Kept it in the sand for about a month and it perished.Great. He’s the first one I’ve been able to keep alive. I’ve heard they can be hard to acclimate. But he’s doing well. I’ve had him for a few weeks.
I prefer the transitioned colors myself. Its a beautiful fish. Other half wants to try a flavor of leopard wrasse again. I'm still having nightmares from the flukes outbreak I went through after putting one in!I so wish I could have kept mine! He was was getting way to aggressive. Started chasing other fish, and would pace the side glass most days. When a fish starts pacing, to me that means they want more room to swim.
My wife liked him as a juvi, I actually like their transitioned colors better.
DO IT!!!!!I prefer the transitioned colors myself. Its a beautiful fish. Other half wants to try a flavor of leopard wrasse again. I'm still having nightmares from the flukes outbreak I went through after putting one in!

I think I will... Ill ask on the mega thread on suggestions for what flavor of leopard.DO IT!!!!!
Leopards are my most favorite class of wrasse. Still need to get out to Rochester to have a look at the chaoti the LFS is holding for me.
Currently house a moyers, melagris, and negrosensis leopards.
I would change my name to @Labridaedicted but it's already taken.![]()
They ate the emperor? How big were both the fishes?I also went through a few over the years. Had a coris in my 50g cube, lasted about a year then the six line began his reign of terror. Kept it in the sand for about a month and it perished.
Previous to that I had one in a 150g fowlr, it was getting nice and big, about 6-7" long when I broke the tank down.
Had one in my current 120g before the one in my vid. It ate at the qt'ed importer, got it home and it went on a hunger strike. Lasted maybe 3 weeks. It would come out swim around, but never would eat anything that was dropped in.

Oh no... I was saying the coris ate food at the fish importer. I buy from the middle man (the step before LFS). I brought it home and then it stopped eating! They ate the emperor? How big were both the fishes?
