My local LFS here in the inland empire has one for sale. They get quite large so to big for my tank but what a beautiful fish that changes dramatically from juvenile to adult. Anyone with a large set up looking I can give you the info.

They reach about 6” and are notorious at flipping frags and coral in search of worms and foods

Yes, he looked pretty feisty in the tank but what a cool looking fish. Swims like a torpedo. Needs at least 100g tank for room.

I had one and they’re gorgeous
Deep red and blue

As in Coris Gaimard?

Ive seen them much large than 6" and most that your read documented claims around 14".

Very beautiful wrasse but the flipping of rocks alone is a big issue. Ive seen a few that were very capable movers and its quite a scary thought in a glass box.

Here is juvenile and adult but yes on the name. They do get big but in captivity it says they stay smaller like 6 to 8 inches.

Guess it boils down to the tank their in but the few ive seen as large sizes have been larger than that, at a guess anyway.

Hard to beat that colouration, even with the amount of colourful wrasse we can get - Its that rocking moving ability that makes them one to avoid for me - I was gobsmacked at just how large of a rock they are capable of moving/dislodging.

I'd still like to have one someday
