Red Crab

Can anyone ID this red crab I’ve gotten as a hitchhiker? Have had my live rock from KP Aquatics since late March and first time I’ve seen him!

I don’t see him. I eventually removed crabs from my liverock as they got larger. Most did not work out in my tank unfortunately.

Difficult to see him. The only red one I know of is a strawberry crab. I don’t think he looks like one though.

Looks to me like it could possibly be a mithrax but without seeing it’s body & claw shapes it’s difficult for a positive id.

I’ll try and get a better shot with better lighting once I get home from work today, I couldn’t get him out in the open to get a decent picture. Tried posting a video but it wouldn’t load correctly

If it looks like this then it’s a red clinging crab, a cousin of an emerald crab. Does the same job as them except they’re red and wayyyy cooler imo.

So I know it’s been a while, but I still haven’t gotten a good picture of him! He’s always hiding in the rock and the only time I see him is when he’s visible through a crevice. However the crab did molt and I’m wondering if this could help ID. So far I haven’t been able to tell any issues with my fish, coral, or other inverts.
