Red cyanobacteria

Hi my reef tank is going through a red cyano wave right now so i purchased some chemiclean and placed air stones in the tank for higher aeration as the instructions say. Im just curious if the air stone in the tank will have a negative impact on my perimeters for the short time they will be in the tank.

No. It might increase your PH a bit and im sure your inhabitants will like the added o2 exchange.

It will provide more movement and less adhesion from bacteria. In addition to VChemiClean, siphon as much as you can first, reduce white light intensity a little and add clean up crew in form of snails right after treatment:
3-4 astrea, 4 nassarius, 3 trochus, 4 cerith and 6-8 blue leg hermits. They will consume and move this stuff around.

Thank you both! I was just reading that air stones in reef tanks can cause salt creep and was worries but thank you very much!!!

Maybe just double check your nutrients are in range.
Zeros bring pests.
