Hi, i just got in a shipment of a large piece of the Red Dragon. I dipped it in revive when i got it, temp acclimated and water acclimated it. Its been about 2 hours in the tank. It is not looking too great. Some spots are blotchy white. Others are pale red, and some still a little deep red. Is there anything i can do to help it survive? should i turn my daylights off? maybe feed it? dip it in anything else? or leave it alone?

Just leave it alone for now. Stressing it even more will def lessen its chances of survival.

++++++++++1 i don't usually dip my sps in revive when they first come in. it seems to me coralrx is not as harsh on new frags....

revive

No problems here dipping in revive either.

Its pretty sensitive (red dragon) how much light is it under?

The only SPS that Revive has impacted for me is Hawkins Blue. Seems like the smooth skin types are more sensitive?
I switched to Coral RX and it does not impact the Hawkins.

i have about 50 acro's. I have never lost one from dipping it in Revive. I dont keep it in for long at all. very very short on new shipments.

I have 6x54w ATI fixture, I only kept 2 bulbs on when i introduced it into the tank. for Flow i have 1mp40, 1mp20

+2. Dipping is not a substitute for a qt system. There isn't really anything that is going to kill the eggs either. If you have any pest on acros, you can pretty much count on the eggs being there too.

If you are getting healthy, aquacultured frags than you won't have any problem with dipping right away. Now, imported maricultured and wild acro colonies have gone through too much stress and the polyp needs to recover before dipping.

i dip with revive and havent had any ill effects on my sticks usually dip for 5 minutes or so and bast the coral to see if anything falls off..i dipped my red dragon for 5 mins and didnt see any sign of stress from the coral.. also examine for eggs and bugs ..
