Good afternoon.

It's my first message in the forum. I'm sorry for my English, but it's not my language.

My tank is stable for quite some time, it has been mounted for more than 3 years.

My acropora red dragon and others do not have good color. Because it can be? Attached pictures.

My main parameters:

Salindad: 1.028
Ca: 420 (Salifert)
Mg: 1350 (Salifert)
Kh: 7.7 (Salifert)
NO3: 0 (D-D H2Oceans)
PO4: 0.04 (Hanna)

Thank you very much.

Your salinity is a bit higher than most people like, I keep mine at 1.026 but it seems to be doing good for you there so no real need to change it then.
Acros and other corals often will become less colorful when NO3 and PO4 are very low. I would try feeding a little more to get your nitrates up to 1 or 2 and see how they react.
By the way your English isn’t bad, don’t worry. It’s better than some native English speakers I know ;) haha

That looks like Red Planet, not Red Dragon. In any case, if you are not driving Nitrate low with organic carbon, then it is fine - you have enough.

Lights could be an issue too.

True. It's a Red Planet, I was wrong.

I have two G4 XR30W PRO radion for a 51 "x 20" x 21 "(92g) tank.

I'm not adding carbon. I have a lot of filtering material (1 block marine pure, siporax and live rock).

I will have to feed more to raise the nitrates. What food do you recommend?

Thank you.

You won't likely be able to raise the NO3. As you increase the food/ammonia, then you will get a bit more nitrate as well and the anoxic bacteria in this places will multiply and you will be right back where you are.

If you are not dosing anything, then this is not your problem. Look elsewhere.

I would add some T5s and see if that helps you out at all.

To improve the colors of my acroporas I should increase nitrates.

If you feed more, the bacterial colony will increase and the nitrates will not increase. Should I eliminate filtering material (block marine pure and siporax)?

Adding T5 is difficult.

Thank you.

I would try feeding a bit more. You might try coral frenzy or reef roids. Your lights are fine, radions will grow and colors acros just fine. What do you have for flow?

I have similar issue, my sps grow fast but color not ideal. I add Reef Energy A and B twice a week and feednreef chili 1-2 times a week. I use 2x Radion Gen 3 and use 1x mp40, 1xjebao and my return pump is vectra M1, system volume is about 80 gallon, tank is Redsea reefer 350,48”x24”x20”. I don’t use fuge, but media reactor with gfo and carbon.
Any suggestions ?
Thanks

I add one or two spoons of reef roids every two days. I will try to increase the frequency and dose.

I have two Jebao / Jecod RW8 at 50% and a Vortech MP40 at 20% (because my sand flies -sugar size-).

Thank you.

I wouldn't add more than that, I think your feeding is fine then. What are you using for nutrient export?
