Red dragon stn

Agree 100%. The unfortunate part is even when the other 50 or 100 or 500 acros are thriving we will focus solely on the one that's not happy.

As for the dragon. This seems to be pretty consistent behavior. I have had and lost numerous colonies all grown out from my first original frag over the years. No idea as to why other then my two word default answer

That's sps! :(

I bought my frag from you about 2 years ago in a pack and it's been very hardy. I do hack the crap out of it as I'm trying to keep it looking like a branching tree and that may have something to do with it. It isn't a clumpy mess like most of these colonies get if left on their own. Maybe lack of flow and light when they get big is the issue?

I had 2 red dragon frags prior to my acro crash. One with thinner branches and one with slightly thicker (Drsfostersmith piece). The one with the very thin branches was one of the first to go. My acro crash was slow and painful. I lost about 47(ish) different acros over the course of 2 months. Some I had growing well for over a yr and a half. The drfoster dragon was one of the very last to go.

I know I had way overdosed iodine, and a triton test verified that, but also revealed very high zinc and copper. Still unable to pinpoint where that would come from, waiting on more tests now. Managed to save a couple acros and acans with a triton detox to remove heavy metals.

Might be worth looking into a triton test to really find out whats going on in your tank. I was never able to keep clams before so I assume those readings are the explaination for that as well.

I've killed every RD frag I've ever had. Not sure why either... One day it's good, next day it's white.
Never really liked it that much anyway.

I'm glad to hear that I am not the only one who is having trouble with this coral. I had mine for a 2 years and it grew to the size of a grapefruite and then all of a suddent it started STN'd when all other corals looked fine. I ended up cutting off all the dead pieces with a little flesh to try and stop the STN as well as I cut a couple frags in hopes that something will survive. After I did that, the STN'd stopped and now its about the size of a golf ball and looks great again.
