I have a red fern macro that I think is thriving- the two fronds that I ordered have grown substantially and a third frond has appeared as well. However, the middle of the stem on the biggest frond is brownish/greenish. My cerith snails are regular visitors to this plant so I don’t think it’s algae—and the tip has continued to grow even after the discoloration happened. Any ideas? Sorry for the slightly blurry pic- taken from directly above.

Bump—anyone have macro insight for me?
First - can you perhaps send another picture (if you have a before and after picture - i.e. a picture from when the algae was healthy, compared to now?). I think the most logical explanation is that something may be eating it? Or its an in an imperfect area? What do you think could be the options?

Looks to be graciliaria or Rhodophyte species of Macroalgae but need sharper image to clearly see
