Hey Reefers. I have a red firefish in QT. Finished the TTM and now just sitting in a QT for a observation for a couple more weeks.

I noticed that for the last few days he has been darting against the tank floor. Not sure of he is trying to scratch something or is this normal behavior?

I don't see anything unusual on him. Looks healthy and swims around the tank. Eats fine.

Video attached

Thank you.

Not too sure if he's constipated. Seems to be pooping fine.

I found this searching Google: seems like the same behavior.

I couldn't get the video to load but that sounds like flashing. It is a response to gill irritation. Flukes or velvet would be my first two suspects

I did a freshwater dip when I first got him. Then TTM with General Cure and Metro throughout the process. He's still getting Metro every other day. So I don't think he has flukes.

If it is Velvet, I've read that it would kill him fast? He's been doing this for about 4 days now. No loss in activity or appetite.

Did a water change and dosed Prazipro. If it is flukes, how long does it take prazi to be effective? Thanks
