i think I read a long time ago, that fish do not see red light, so you can flash a flashlight with a red filter on it, and it won’t feel the fish out. Is this true? Also, does a UV flashlight work for this, or is it just going to hurt their eyes?

I use red LED's at 5% for a nightlight; seems to work well for that. I do this because I've also read that fish can't see red wavelengths.
