A few days back i noticed what I thought was red/ orange coralline on one of my rocks. I thought it was odd that the coralline growing on other rocks and back wall was very purple, but have heard of tanks with other color cotralline. I have not had flatworms in sixteen years of reefing and many tanks. Once I put the glasses on (I'm old), I could see they were very small dots. I took some long tweezers to see if it came off the rocks easily. Sure enough, they peeled right off. I put them on a napkin and could see them moving and recognized the typical shape of flatworms. I tried to siphon them off without much luck. I have a melanarus wrasse, which apparently did not have any interest in them. So, I ordered Salifert Flatworm Exit. I followed the directions carefully and within a few minutes they started to die. I used a turkey baster to siphon like crazy and probably got hundreds out. Everything in the tank seems to be fine, but I will keep an eye on things and do a water change. It's great when a product actually works as it should. I've spent way too much on "snake oil" over the years.

Awesome to hear that the die off went smoothly. dealing with these red planaria flatworms is no fun and if you wait as long as I did it could make your Xenias and euphyllias look like a cheetah looking breed of coral. I’m pumped to hear about your success. I never tried the salifert FW exit but I do have some ready if they ever decide to pop up again. I ended up dealing with mine through a tank upgrade. I just dipped everything in bayer and didn’t transfer anything with a frag plug. 4 months in and so far so good.

I do dip all of my frags, so not sure how they got in the display. I have put a lot of frags in the tank over the last couple of months, zoas, mushrooms, lps and sps. Do they tend to come in on sps, or any corals?

Mine came from a hammer coral and they were all over my torch coral mushrooms and Xenia. Only thing I didn’t see them on in my tank were gsp and anemones

What do you dip your corals in. I’ve only tried bayer on them
