Not sure what it is guessing soft coraline maybe? Anybody know?

If it was purple now it’s fluorescent pink then It’s coralline that is stressed/dying. This is my canary in a coal mine that my tank is low on Alk. If you have your pumps out of the water for an extended period this will also happen.
 
It is purple in the day and yes looks kinda wavy almost plated on top of each other
 
Ha, I just saw your user name... I think I bought an acrylic tank from you a couple months ago!
 
What you are seeing is the pigment phycoerythrin. It's a strong red/pink fluorescent pigment.
It's dominant in coralline algae, red algae, and most cyanobacteria.
 
That's what my coralline looks like when it gets exposed to air for any period of time. Always lived it. If only it would stay.
