Red Goatfish

They get big, so a big tank (100+) is a must with a lot of live sand critters to keep it happy. As it grows, I've heard they can pray on smaller fish in the tank. That's why I haven't got one. LOL I like my fairy wrasses too much. :)

Good luck with it!

will they eat pellets and frozen?

I've heard that they can be trained to pellets, but their natural diet is invertebrates, small crustaceans, and worms. I would make sure you have some of its natural diet in your sand bed in case it has not been acclimated to pellets yet. Best price I could find: https://www.ebay.com/itm/200-Pack-T...itm=303131012302&_trksid=p2047675.c100623.m-1

I would have some frozen shrimp on hand too. I buy frozen raw shrimp from the grocery store and grind it up and refreeze. It's cheaper that way. Finally, I would call/email Fishybusiness and see what they've been feeding it, though keep in mind a seller wants to sell, so the fish may be given the food, but it may not be actually eating it. Your LFS can probably order you in some black or white worms so you can culture them for a steady diet if the fish never takes to pellets. Good luck!

I am considering the bicolor goatfish too ... to add red color, unique character and sand cleaner (left food) ... is 2 goatfish good add for me in my 220 gallon 8ft FOWLR tank?

My tank has sand base and currently has 1 starry blenny, 1 lawnmower blenny, 1 diamond Gobi, 1 Bird wrasse, 1 yellow tail corris, 1 lemon peel, 1 flamehawk, 1 niger trigger, 1 imperator, 2 butterfly, 1 pinkface ... will the goatfish have problems with any of my fishes?

the goatfish seemed to eat great at LFS, why is this fish rated as "Moderate to Difficult" on liveaquaria?

I like to keep hardy fishes ... is this fish hardy from water param point of view?
