Hi Expert,

Found this worm while dipping... anyone can tell if it is reef safe? It is so cool and dont feel like throwing it away...

Hi @vetteguy53081, could you please help to ID this worm? It looks super cool... not sure if it is safe to put it back in my mixed reef DT?
Its a young Fulgida worm which represents a millipede. These are Very bad news as they will kiil shrimp, snails, fish with no hesitation. get rid of it and tomorrow go to church and ask the Lord " please not let there be anymore " lol

Yup, will do that too.
 
If in doubt toss it out or give it its own tank (like a 5g or something small). I have read a lot of worm threads on here and have not seen this one before. It is pretty though. :-)
 
+1 on the syllidae worm, in the same family as bristle worms, refer to the thread
 
Don’t think it’s a fulgida worm, looks more like a syllidae worm. Not a lot of info readily available on them.
Hi Rtaylor, is syllidae considered reef safe? As much as i wanted to keep the worm I found.. I couldn't.. it is history now.
