Red Headed Fairy Wrasse disease

Picked up from LFS 8/16. Doing well, eating for several days.

Last night noted him curled up in a pipe, not coming out for food.
This am curled up under a pipe. Appears to have some white discoloration on right side of body.
Any ideas or suggestions? I separated from the rest of the quarantine group which all appear well.

Aquarium Parameters:
20 gal HOB quarantine tank. Set up for several fish that were picked up 8/16.

Temp 78, Salinity 1.022 (slowly elevating), ammonia safe levels.

No other fish affected and all acting well.

Fish is breathing heavily, laying on side under pipe. Not eating.

Everyone just settled into quarantine so I'd started some focus/metroplex food probably 2-3 days ago. Had not been treating with copper. In the past my technique had been focus/metroplex and prazi w/ monitoring.

Blowing this up, from what I can see- Its an injury and likely from a fish that is spooked easily and often dive bombs into rocks as with your fish.

Obviously a moot point for the wrasse since it isn't eating, but: If you are running Metroplex and Focus, you need to calculate the dose carefully. I see a lot of people just mixing the two together and feeding it in food...of course, the dose then is totally uncontrolled. Most oral fish meds are dosed as mg of drug per kg of fish weight is tough to do! Luckily, metro is one of the drugs that can be dosed as a simple percentage of the total weight of the food, so all you need is an accurate gram scale.

The dose is 1% in the food, fed daily for three days.

I've got a goby wrasse and filefish in the quarantine. Now thinking future quarantines will be single fish.

I'll be sure to measure well. I've also read it's hard to overdose so have some room to buffer. I've read I can also dose the metroplex in the water, I suppose that would give me some additional security. I could order things to start copper but feel like metro may be equivalent and I can start immediately?

As far as the rest of quarantine tank... would you drain, clean, and refill it or not necessary?

Yes, metroplex can be dosed in the water, and for a fish that isn't eating, is really the only option.

As far as sterilizing the quarantine tank? If the other two fish come out of that tank, they are carrying anything that might be in that tank (hopefully nothing) so additional sterilization is not needed.
