Five weeks ago I bought a frag of Red Hornet Zoanthids with fifteen polyps. Since then, I havent noticed any growth, no new polyps have developed. So I'm a little worried, cause I dont want to loose a frag that is so expensive, and I want to see them covered some rocks. The zoas looks great, with excellent color and full polyp extension. They are under a Radion XR30w gen 2, and are getting around 115 to 130 PAR.

These are my water parameters:
Calcium: 420
Magnesium: 1320
dKH: 2.9
pH: 8.0
Density: 1.025
Temperature: 25.5 - 27.0 C

And for the past 7 weeks I've been using Reef Energy part A and B.

From the pic, i can see there's at least one aiptasia growing in/around your zoos. Kill it. My zoos usually don't do so well either when there are pests there to annoy them.

The frag came with a Yellow Polyp, its not an aiptasia. But now that you said that, I've another frag of zoos not doing well with three aiptasias growing around them. Wich would be the best way to kill them with a DIY solution?

I haven't used any DIY techniques. I usually use Aiptasia X to kill them -- just gotta make sure you get it right in the mouth.

I'd remove it manually with a knife or razor blade. I've killed colonies of zoas by injecting stuff on a pest aptaisia, although I probably used to much or injected too far into the rock, but for whatever reason its backfired for me more than it has helped. I find yellow polyps particularly easy to remove by just peeling the matting away from the rock.

The red hornets dont look completely happy either. Maybe a little less flow and or more light would help. Usually when the skirt retracts like that its too much flow. And the par I have mine at is about 160 ish. So not much more than your at. But they are happy and grow very well.

You could also just remove the frag and super glue over the aiptasia.

These are mine, I started with 2. And I have a colony of similar size I frag from.

I can see two new polyps starting to grow to the right of the pic, give it time my friend. Sometimes it takes longer to settle in

Or if you can i had aptasia and bought 4 peppermint shrimp. The less you feed the quicker they eat them up. Annoying them with knifes and tweezers can cause them to release babies because thats what they do when theyre stressed. If u take that route make sure u get them all.

They are in a place with medium to high current. Should I move them to a place with less current and at the same time increase my PAR, or just less current first and see how they respond?

I would change only one factor at a time. as far as the superglue that sounds like a good plan. I've tried putty in the past as well but they always find a way around it. The glue might work better.

I'm moving my zoas to another place with less current, and see if the super glue works. I'll be posting my updates, and thanks for the tips.
