Hey all,

I setup my Fuge with chato and the Aqua Illum. prime 16 Fuge Led.

Not sure if this would have anything to do with it but today when I cleaned out my filter socks I have some red, not sure where it’s from haven’t seen this before. Tank is clear.

I’m new to reefing so I’d appreciate any assistance in identify/need to know if there’s a cause for concern.

Thanks in advance!

Could be cyanobacteria if it verges on purple.
Or pigment from dry rocks if your dry rocks are new and painted purple/red.

Doesn’t really look purple… The dry rocks definitely purple, though this is more reddish.

I’ll see what happens if the next few days and play it by ear. Hopefully not Cyano and whatever it is disappears!
