Not saying I'm an expert, and you'll want to do a little more research, but I don't think the red knobbed stars are reef safe if you can keep them alive long enough for them to get large. Again, just going off memory.

That's a bunch....but I will never own a coral..... I love the rough rugged look... reefs with coral are beautiful but not of me

If you don't have coral, your good to go. I had one a long time ago before i got bit by the coral bug.

No, i woke up one morning to it devouring a colony of my zoas. Those in my opinion are for a fish only tank.

Anyone done research on how to keep the colors bright on the red knobs... some are darker than other....is this a good thing or bad thing.....or is it genetic variations? Thx in advance

Hey there everyone I got my knobbys acclimated well.... I drip them for 4 hrs....

Next I learned a trick to make sure you get a live animal that survived acclimation...I PLACE THEM UP SIDE DOWN AND LET THEM TURN THE SELVES UPRIGHT ON THERE OWN...

Sorry to report that I lost 4 of my stars... they did their job really well and ran out of fod before it could be reproduced.... i put 4 of them in my big tank and i could not reach them most of the time...I did however learn a way to keep them fed.... I get pieces of calm and shrimp...lay them on the sand bed then put the knobbys on top of it... really simple and effective....

You lost them that's sad I always feed my cc stars when they was on the glass normally when they was up at the top they lay back flush with the water but stuck to the glass you can drop a piece of shrimp right on the underside of their legs and they will close themselves over it was way easy that having to find them and move them to the shrimp on the bottom just my 2 cents
