Red legged hermit shredding torch?? I caught him in my torch this morning and two heads are picked clean . I've seen emeralds do this but not hermits. Anyone have any opinions about the aggressiveness of various hermits ? I've heard red legged can be a bit nasty

I often buy red or blue legs by the hundreds. I've got a 220g display, so I have plenty of room. Ive never had them do anything more than clean stuff off corals. Ive not noticed any difference in red and blue legs. They act the same, eat the same, and everything...just different colors. I have read that the larger hermits will begin eating corals, but I haven't seen it.

I would recommend moving him to the sump. I had one that loved climbing up in a monti digi it aggravated it and killed off a big spot. no matter how many times I would pull him out and move him ,he would just head right back to the coral. I recent upgraded and decide to let him out of the hole. so far no problems guess he learned his lesson
