is this fish just as aggressive as the six and eight line wrasses?

Ive had both a red and a six line, the six is much more aggressive however I feel like the Six does do a better job hunting for pest.

Or should I stick to some other type of wrasse? I don't like the red colored fairy wrasses. Getting closer to having fish now :) will get some Friday to QT

If you like the redline wrasse it's a great fish. If not, suggest another and we will let you know if it will be a good fit.

Temminckii, pylei, and red velvet all get too big and aggressive for a 60g. Pencil wrasses are comparable to leopard wrasses as far as care goes.

+1, and lineatus is too big as well.

Make sure you give your biocellatus some sand! Mine was ready to rip through the bottom of the bag to get to his new bed in QT.

Thanks you just saved me from making another mistake.

Is he swimming about or staying in the sand? I've never seen this fish and wonder about his habits? I know when they are scared that hit the sand.

I've actually never seen him dive in from fear, he's really active and explorative when awake and he has no problem with me or my kids being at the tank. He does sleep there though, he goes to bed about 3:30pm and wakes up at 7am. He was swimming around the bag just fine until he saw that Chinese food container full of sand, from then on he was just dead set on getting there (also not a very good picture of the fish, dark basement etc).
