Was it tank raised or wild caught and do you know if it eats Frozen or if it has to have live copepods

It was wild caught and only eats live right now but hoping eventually will eat frozen. If not I’m prepared to add copepods monthly to keep it nice and fat . I’ve been trying to get a biota trained mandarin but they sell out too quickly. Plus they are 80 bucks . This one was 20
 
@PaulB has a great feeder he has built for his Mandarin and other fish to eat newly hatched brine shrimp. He has a thread with complete instructions on how to hatch the brine and how to make the feeder.
I would recommend that in addition to the pods so you can make sure it is eating.
 
Where did you get it? The red mandarins seem to be a lot harder to find than the green or psychedelic ones!

Petco out of all places. I normally don’t buy livestock there ever but I couldn’t pass it up. Reds are hard to find plus it was only 20 bucks. Can’t beat that
