I want to purchase one but unsure of the QT process for these guys. I know they are pretty resistant to ich but what disease usually do these guys have? Ive read to put straight into the DT but if I need to treat for worms or something I would prefer to do it in a QT. I have a QT set up year round so no worries on that end and before someone starts going on about their diet, I culture my own phyto and pods so thats a none issue as well....

Mandys don't usually get ich on their skin due to their incredibly thick mucous coat, but their gills are as susceptible as any other fish. Your best option would be to QT using TTM, dosing Prazipro on transfers 2 & 4 to deworm: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/tank-transfer-method.192655/

For the final transfer, I would just add the mandy directly to your DT. This means the QT period only lasts 12 days.

Obviously, if you could buy a mandy already eating frozen/pellets that would make life easier while the fish is going thru TTM. They also will usually eat Nutramar Ova (if you can still find it). You can also add your own pods for the fish to eat... but you will need to do this multiple times per day (which holds true for any food you feed a mandy.)
