A couple days ago after realizing my sps had zero polyp expansion I tested my water parameters and realized that I had very high alkalinity. Not sure what cause the Alk spike but it took a toll on my sps. I noticed my pocillopora was bleaching ( or rtn'ing) whatever the term is. Before I could bring parameters back to normal it was a goner.
Since my focus was on that pocillopora I failed to realize my monti cap was also "bleaching," on one side. It has not progressed over night and polyp extension and parameters are all back to normal.
With that explanation out of the way, the question is, should I cut the "bleached" part of the monti cap off or will it simply grow back over the skeleton?
Sorry new to sps, and reading in general.

Pic 2: stylo struggling during alk spike
Pic3: stylo now.
Current params:
Alk: 10 dkh
Calc: 450 ppm
Mag: 1450
PH: 8.0
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: ~5 ppm
Phosphate: no test available
