Red monti cap - just not growing

Hi All,

I've had this monti for 2 months in the tank. It's colour is beautiful, no recession or any other concerns. It's been thatvwas since day one, It's just not growing. I have had a lot of growth from other sps in this period includind some bought at the same time or since.

Part of it is slightly shaded but I see no difference between the shaded part and the part fully exposed to t5. The only thing I can think of is that it would have a little less flow than some of the other corals.

Grateful for your advice and thoughts.

Bring it up higher....... they like some light.

Any tips for mounting it? This is my first plating monti. I tried to leave it half hanging off the rock as you can see in the pictures. Does it matter?

Using super glue on its underside works. Be mindful of its potential growth as not to shade other corals down the road.

Mine started out about the same size in 2016 as a quarter size frag. This is it today:

Move it up, give it some light and flow. Super glue gel on the underside to glue itmto the rock. Monti caps grow really well for me and most other people, easy sps to keep happy.
