What’s the best way to get rid of a monti that is overgrown and on the edge of overtaking a few acros?

I snapped off and replanted it , which is becomming a new colony

If it is a Red Capricornis Monti, then just break it of and sell the frags or give some to your friends. Mine is 14 inches across and had to break a good sized chunk off because it was shading everything under it.

My problem is it is also crawling along the rocks and I can’t peel it off.

chisel off the entrusting part, it should come off in small chunks, assuming you can take the rock out its in. If not get a metal brush and just scrubb it to death.

Thanks I’ll try the brush on the inside edges and let the overhang continue to grow. The over hang is easy to manage
