which ones is better at surviving?

Is it better to buy them bigger?

i've never noticed any difference in growth rate or survivability between the color variants i have. i do notice that they seem to enjoy being set in a place higher up on the rockwork where food is directed to them by the powerheads.

They both do fine under the right conditions. The ORA captive bread ones are especially hearty. They really like reef roids and phytoplankton.

I have a red one bought at a frag 14 years ago. Now the thing is a little smaller than a volleyball. I don’t spot feed or anything at all. It’s sit on the sand bottom I have moved it around a few times

Ill be honest here.. ive had over 16 gonioporas. I currently have 9 of them. All doing well. Guess how many of the 16 ive had were red and died ? 5 of them..

I dunno why but ANYTIME i get a red one th3y always get spots in there flesh that die off and eventually it gets bigger and bigger and polps just bail and its just a skeleton.

It really sucks. Like this beautiful red short tantacle with green mouth.. paid 150$ for it. And its half dead now.

Yet if you look at my other pic.. i have a ton of fully extended healthy gonis. I have only been able to get two reds to ever live. One is red one is a pink one. Both like thumb nail sized.

Its a HUGE bummer this red one is half died. I suspect its half dead because when i got it it was freshly cut around 70% of the perimeter.. and the death started there and progressed. The lerson didnt let it heal first. But why my others died ? No idea..

Na they die too fast for that. Litterally within a week or so. Its something with th3 reds. The other colors ive had for a year now. No issue but one green one died
