Red/Orange ID

Hey There,

ive decided to stop pulling out the filter floss between the overflow/skimmer section of my sump until my brick gets nice and broken in. I was working in the sump area and noticed the red stuff in the black filter floss, also just noticed the orange thing?

any ideas?

This was really clean 2 weeks ago when I put the bricks in. I haven't touched it since.

Could they be sponges?

Also, keep a closer eye on your nitrates and phosphates until you are ready to pull the floss again. They may raise if the gunk isn't being removed and is being allowed to break down in the tank.

Forams, I think that’s the red guys. Orange maybe sponge.
