Can siphon out as many as possibly with airline tubing and let water go back into sump or a bucket but put pair of womens tights ( americans call panti hose I believe) or a filter sock or something to catch them then there's a product called flatworm exit, but only problem if have lots lots they can release a toxin as they die so need to get dead ones out quick as you can .
A more natural approach would be a wrasse like a coris/silver belly wrasse or many others will eat them,Ruby red dragonet I read could be good candidate( google got answers which other fish ) if they get all maybe not but can keep in check .

But if the cheato you juat bought you not put in tank yet, maybe can put it in fresh water to kill all the flatworms as the cheato should tolerate it more than the flatworms, but never done so no first hand experience but worth looking into .

Goodluck

this is a common bristleworm baby

lol yeah i guess i shouldn’t trust the first thing i see, any ideas on what it could be?
No sorry ,no idea as lots lots worms come from the sea ha ha.
But @vetteguy53081 and @Mibu Both very knowledable and maybe able to point you in right direction
I say probably harmless and resembles something like bristlewirm without bristles lol
Good luck

there’s a ton of them all

over the chaeto. should i remove them?
I personally do but others retain them as clean up crew. They are harmless worm that eat detritus and uneaten food, just not welcomed in my tanks

Yeah I love mostly all the creepy crawlies that come out at night in our tanks and Intrigues me alot, but bristle worms, fire worms, eunicid worms I do not like and don't like the idea of putting hand in tank for whatever reason and could be some starting off half inch worm but growing to 5 inch / 10 inch or more ,no thankyou ( gives me shivers just thinking about the things ha ha )
