I have had a red planet acro frag in my 29 gallon tank for a couple months now. When I first received it, it was very vibrant green with great polyp extension. Now it has lost all of the green and is slightly red. I understand this is common to change color with this piece depending on lighting but I have yet to see any growth at all. It just doesn't seem happy to me. I have a few other sps frags that seem to be doing well ( Jedi mind trick, green month, purple monti). All lps and zoas are thriving and growing like crazy. My parameters are as follows

Nitrates 0 api
Temp 79 F (pid temperature control)
SG 1.025
Calcium 404 Hanna
Alk 8.4 Dkh salifert
Phosphate .4 Hanna phosphorous ULR

Alk swings are minimal but have had a couple spikes of 1.0 dialing in the calcium reactor. My lighting is ecotech radion xr30w gen 2 with wide angle lense kit running at 60% max
Water flow is 2 ecotech mp10's running about 55%] default schedule
I am running a geo calcium reactor about 60 drops a min @ 7.0 ph on controller
I also run a very small refugium that is about 3 gallon with chaeto, live rock, and live sand/mud
I am doing auto water changes using dosing pump at 1050 ml per day which comes out to be approx 20% month.
The tank has been up and running since February.

Any info you all may have is greatly appreciated.

My red planet took a few months to start getting polyp extension and start encrusting. I'm finally starting to see growth coming off the encrusted parts. Patience and water stability I think is key

RP is famous for encrusting growth before growing vertical. Sometimes if you snip the very tip off the vertical growth you'll see the base start to produce shoots. I fragged my RP many times and most frags responded well to this method.

This Acropora also seemed to do well with feedings.

Usually when it loses the green it means it is getting plenty of light. As for growth being a problem this piece is a tough one to get going. But once it does it will kick out a big base then give vertical growth. Give it a little more time and see what happens

Thanks for the replys! I am actually planning on starting to bump my calcium up this evening. I guess I will get the calcium up and see what happens.

great advice as everyone said. if you liked the neon green look, he will do fine a bit lower with some good flow.

that is def a fun piece
