A couple of weeks ago I purchased a couple of acro frags, a green no name acro and a Red Planet.
The green frag is thriving whereas the Red Planet has lost its red/green and has started to bleach on the tips.
Both frags are getting the same amount of par and flow and my parameters are in what I would call an acceptable range and stable.
I'm thinking too much light, as it does sit right underneath one of my Hydras, but without a par meter I can only go off the PAR database in the lighting section. My best guess, going from other reefers settings is that it is getting between 250 and 300 par.

This is tough.

Typically I start all of my corals low and move high over time, no matter the PAR of the tank they came from. Even moving between different lighting types can cause stress. (It is only one of many stressors, for example Flow plays a huge role too).

The coral is definitely stressed, but the question is do you move it and potentially cause more stress or do you leave it be in hopes it adapts.

I would say it is a personal choice. It is a gamble either way.

Red planets can do pretty well pretty much anywhere in my experience. I have mine in probably 250 par. It will get white on the tips/base if my phosphate is far too low (which they currently are) :(

Phosphate was my first thought but mine is holding steady at 0.1 via salifert.
I really need to get a Hanna to double check this.
My Red Planet is white on the tips and base.
