Hey guys I was just wondering if I could get some input on if I need to give my red planet frag more or less light. It is growing quite a bit but the color is more of a light green with very little red. It gets good flow from my mp10 and is getting a good amount of light. It's in the top 3rd of my tank under a kessil a350w. Any input is very appreciated. Thanks.

Top 3rd of the tank? Wouldn't that make it to much light? This coral tends to turn green with to much light. Color should return if you move it lower.

ORA Red Planet | Acropora sp. | Oceans, Reefs & Aquariums Oceans, Reefs & Aquariums
Description:The ORA Red Planet is one of our most popular corals. It is a tabling Acropora with red and pink corallites and a metallic green base. Polyp coloration on this coral is a deep red and the new growth is light pink to white. Under intense lighting the coral may lose the attractive green coloration, it will return if the coral is moved to a lower light area.

Oops, I got it backwards, my bad.

This coral can change even if left under the same lighting, especially a frag. If it's growing well I'd leave it and the colors may change as it grows out.

Ysa its kind of hit or miss, I have three desperate colonies of it that do completely different thing under different light and flow

I am also just getting encrusting growth not really any up and out growth. Any tricks to get it to start tabling? I'm just impatient haha.

IME it does encrust before upward growth. But when it does it will really take off. Pretty fast grower once it gets going.

Mine has turned completely green despite even putting it down on the sand. It still has lots of PE and seems happy so I figure I just have a green planet now =P (Clearly not an SPS person)

Here's a current pic of my frag.
