All the same coral. Sorry for the poor pics.

Could be RP. I have fragged pieces that look like that.

It was sort of red when I put it in, but it color changed really quick. But the piece right next to it stayed pretty red. So I had to wonder.

RP turns green under lower lighting.

Ahh, it's high in the tank, but does have less light. That makes sense. Still tons to learn about Acros.

It can only be Red Planet if you have lineage to ORA or if it came on an ORA plug. Else, it's just something which sort of resembles Red Planet.

Ok, so I went back to the LFS that I bought the frag from and asked where he got it. Louis indicated it came in on a trade and got me in contact with the guy who he traded with. I contacted him and he indicated it came from Elite Reef and was the ORA red planet.

In his reef, he said it was all red with no green sheen, but that he was running 4 400wt 20k ushio bulbs about 6 inches above the coral. (Too high from my understanding?). So he gave me, (awesome) another frag straight from his mother colony to make sure it was the same.

Here is how it looks, after acclimating in my tank (250wt MH w/2 vho purple flors) about 12 inches below the lights just off center.

Pretty confident that my lower wattage and smaller par rating is causing the Green and initially stated. Here is the image. I'm now pretty confident they are both RP.

Thanks again for the help and suggestions. image.jpg
Image is off slightly because the image seems too dark. But color is pretty close.

Yes, the lower the light the more green you'll get, and the higher the more red. With really high light, it'll shift to all red/pink.
