I really want to start up a 5-10 gallon reef tank with (mostly) everything red. I will use this thread to bounce ideas or learn something from fellow reefkeepers. :)

I know I want blood shrimp, that's a must, 2 of them.
- Some kind of bright red zoas, mushrooms, montipora(not sure on this), what else? (LPS, soft, easy SPS)
- I don't of any red fish that would be suitable for a 5gal
- I don't know any red snails either :(

Most likely will be using purple live rock, 7-10lbs or more. My vision of the tank is a little blurred atm so bear with me, hopefully this thread will clear it. The name of the tank will be "Krimson Sunset" or whatever other corny name comes up :D

P.S - happy to be a member of a great forum. :D

Those aquacultured red gonis would be a pretty rad centerpiece in an all red tank. I'd
think red monti caps, red hornets, a red scoly, lava shrooms, and maybe a small flame hawk? Red isn't too tough a color to focus on

Frag farmer red monti setosa, ora red planet acro, blastomussa coral, red foot snails.

Wow i'm surprised you guys suggested fish, I got flamed over at Reef Central for putting a clown in a 14g lol. I don't know about the Hawkfish because I won't have anywhere to put him when he grows up, apart from my 14g. Never heard of a ruby dragon, is that the same thing as the red scooter? Too difficult/expensive to keep in such a small tank. Any red gobies out there?

Great suggestions, after seeing all the corals you guys suggested i'm deciding to put light red stuff in the front of the tank and have it intensify. Sort of like a rising sun. :)

Oh and if guys have seen any pictures of all red tanks let me know, I've scoured google and nothing shows up.

I meant light corals in front of the rockwork and brighter red at the back/top. So it will be mostly SPS at the top since of course most need more lighting.

geometric pygmy perchlet - should be ok in 10g.

Hmm, i'll have to see it for real to get an idea of how red it is. I was thinking more of an all red fish.

Red footed snails...I have a few...very cool...
And there are so many red corals...and yeah a 10g would be better with fish...
Have fun!
