Being a long time salt water fanatic with larger tanks, I decided to try a nano build. Have the 34 gal tank and already got rid of the top and put reef radiance LED on. I ordered the Tunze 9002 protein skimmer, upgraded intake and return pump upgrade. I have 2 beautiful phantom clown babies anxiously awaiting their new home. I am starting to work on a stocking list but don't know a lot on easy care corals. I want bright corals. Any suggestions on stocking and/or tank upgrades? Will post pics after goodies are in. :)

Keep us posted.
I'm waiting for the frag swap on the 22nd of this month to pick up some stuff for my tank.

Looking good!

Thanks all. I hope my skimmer and upgraded pumps will be in today or tomorrow. Will test tank and see if cycle complete. I am wanting to stock with my 2 phantoms, green clown goby, mystery wrasse and Pygmy angel. Maybe a yellow watchman? Is this too much for a tan this size?

LED's on. Skimmer going. New pumps in. Even put a Duncan, neon candy cane, red shroom and a torch coral in. The baby phantoms love the tank and their nems!

Thanks! I do have questions on fish for that small of tank. I currently just have the 2 phantom clowns. I would like to put a green clown goby and one or two more fish but don't know if this is too much?

If you had a sump and were willing to do a 4g WC every week you could probably have a couple more fish. I had 7 2-3" fish in my 36g with 10g sump with no problems. I have LPS and softies too. I would not recommend having that many fish if you are thinking SPS as nitrates might be a problem. You must be diligent with maintenance when you are pushing the limits though.

Update on my build... Tunze protein skimmer going, upgraded pumps, reef radiance LED's and the tunze auto top off. Can't figure out how to be able to run both return pumps, will run dry if they are both going.

Stocked with 2 tiny phantoms, hirechi fire fish, cherub angel, orange diamond goby, cuc and corals. The anemones are temporary until the 90 is old enough to take em.

Looks like the anemone is happy. I have always liked cherub angels, they seem to be the most even tempered and least likely to pick at corals of all the small angels I've had.

Thanks all. Anyone know the trick to being able to run both return pumps?

I just upgraded for one of these systems.... Great little tank. You are already off on the right foot with the tunze and the pump upgrade. I would recommend getting the inTank media basket for it so you can run filter media and filter floss. To run both returns all you need to do is make sure that the water level is higher. I ran the Red Sea surface skimmer upgrade pushed all the way to the top with only about 1/2inch of water fall in the surface skimmer so you get an understanding of where the water level was.... Just play around with it for a little bit and you will understand what I am trying to say...LOL

Thanks! I will try n play with it again tonight. Was very irritating and didn't want to ruin my new pumps!

For the return pumps to prevent micro bubbles I've seen that you can add some tubing basically it happens when you need to top off and the water level gets below the intake (for stock pumps).

As far as replacing the stock skimmer ect, I got the tunze nano doc and felt it was too small and the flux with the water level make it very finicky. I basically added a sump with a life reef overflow, if you can keep the water level constant I would suggest getting an upgraded cup (intank) so that you can mount it lower. Of course my comments are a bit late as you've ordered the skimmer. Tank looks great. As far as fish I'm not sure how many, I would recommend that you go slow with adding more, I had a lot of aggression with a six line.
