I'm starting a new reef in Panama where I've just found a reefer 170 tank that I just couldn't resist.
I started my first reef 6 years ago when I lived in Japan (my old fishies are still swimming there) 10G fowlr.
I'll have to get myself some more gadgets, amongst those a rodi unit and some new power heads but I reckon I'll open a tank page once I've read up a bit in this forum.
I like Tunze a lot, looking at getting 2 Turbelle Nanostream 6020 that I think could be well hidden in my reefer 170... But I'm reading mixed reviews do I'm in "thinking mode"
I won't be putting any livestock at all in the tank before August as we are heading for Europe in July for vacation; so I feel all is in good time to get the cycle completed and just use my old ATO to keep reservoir full.
The LFS I've found here seem to be a great place; he is getting critters corals and such from the states. Plans are to get a pair of clowns, discussions are ongoing in the house which ones - they are imo all very likable.
I'd like to keep a blenny, I think a lawn mover; generally I like piece in my tanks; and won't buy fish that needs to be spoon feed with fresh roe collected at the last full moon in Fiji.
This time I think I'll try with some easy corals; I'm not sure if my lights are ok? I'm using Current USA Orbit LED's - it was great for my last 20 gallon tank, but the reefer 170 is a wee bit deeper.
Anyway, we moved to Panama almost a year ago after living 4 years in the Dominican Republic, and we really like it here.
