Hi reefers,

I recently set up a Red Sea 200 G2 (24"L x 21"H x 22.6"W) and bought a XR15 G6. I would like to run SPS dominated tank but just realized the par is not enough. I tested today with the USB sensor, in the top center, the par is around 150. I do understand the par is too low to run most of the SPS.

Any strategy to increase the par without adding another light?

I am considering this:

XHO-K15 LED Add-On Kit - For Radion XR15 - Reef Brite

Anyone have experience with this? Will this help boost the Par to 200+?

Thanks

Is the light running at 100% intensity and 100% schedule?

For a sps dominated tank, I would either get another xr15 or keep the one and get a 24" t5 hybrid.

I think so. Here is the setting.

The only issue for the T5 hybrid mounting is I have never thinking hang the light on the celling.

Also, for the corals, I plan to have SPS on top and LPS in the bottom.

How about the schedule? Its on the page with the graph. Is it the blue or the pro?

I dont like hanging from the ceiling either but if you are decently close to the wall you can use these

Pro. Schedule at 100% too. Just tested the Par again 160 at the top of the rock

Are you using ab+? It looks like maybe a modified version from the picture, you can turn up the white spectrum to see if that gives you more par for the peak hours. Unfortunately the g5 and especially the g6 give up a lot of par for more spread.

In my opinion If you want to go sps dominant i would definitely add a second xr15, go up to a xr30 or get a t5 hybrid fixture. The reefbrite add-on kits are nice but mainly give you less shadows and more pop. They aren't going to get your numbers where you want them.

Yes. Using the AB+ and tuned the white up a bit but won't improve par too much (10 par from 30% cold white to 50% cold white) I am getting the one you suggested above. Much appreciated
