Hey all, Recently bought a RSR-250 and getting it set up soon (will start a build thread soon!). Wondering if i should run a Neptune Cor-15 or buy a cheaper DC return pump, (simplicity, coral-boxDCA, or a varios pump?) I have an apex controller, so the Cor catches my eye for that. But im just wondering if the $300 would be better spent if i bought a $100 pump, and then spent the other $200 on an FMK from apex to monitor and control flow better? Or in your opinion is the FMK even worth it? I hear they have sensor issues, not sure if this is true, just reading reviews on BRS and they say they have issues with the sensors going bad. Or should i not even run a FMK and buy a cheaper well known reliable varios pump and keep it simple? This will be my first sump style reef tank, as i have just run an all-in-one for 2 years. I dont mind spending money on still buying quality products, but at the same time being wise and not just spending money for a name brand flashy product.
So for equipment im running 2x MP10's (is this enough for a reefer 250?), simplicity 240DC skimmer, Theiling compact roller mat, deciding on my return pump still and other optional equipment. Any recommendations would be great.
