Just bought one of these before I researched, it . which wasn’t the smartest idea. Have not opened the box yet. It will be for a new tank Red Sea reefer 350 If you have one, please comment. Do like it/hate it and why? Seen mixed reviews. Thanks

I can tell you that 2 of my friends on another site, one with an S650 same as mine, and one with a RSR425, both new, have changed them pretty much straight away so maybe do some reading and see what you find while it’s unused.

I’m sure there are many running them without issues as well and hopefully we will get some replies to help you out and decide.

I’ve done it myself many times as well, researched after buying! Lol

I just purchased the 300 for my frag tank so I"m tagging along. Its still in the box. From my understanding the previous skimmer from red sea was basically garbage that came with the aquariums and this is their new model to improve things.

I have a RS 350 and I just upgraded to a red sea skimmer but I got the 600 and I love it. It is really quite and works really well. the one thing I did was to attach 3/8 air tubing to the silencer and run it into the pvc line I have going to my garage so its pulling in fresh air. I upgraded from the Eshopps x-220 and the difference is amazing

Thank you for the information. I’m glad it’s working out for you. Still not sure if I’ll keep the Red Sea skimmer or return it. I was hoping to get a few more responses.

Rs900 here. I had an old bubble king mini 180 that had a dead block. I switched out the block with an askoll and I am pulling out much darker stinkier sludge than the 900. I could only get the 900 to pull watered down skimmate and found the water levels to be extremely finicky requiring constant adjustment. The bk mini is so much more efficient and easy to manage. Mine is even an old gen 1.

Thomas thanks for letting me know your experiences with the RS 900. I think I may call premium aquatics and see what their return policies are. If it not too much to return I may do that.
