I'm trying to decide what lighting to choose for my new Red Sea 3XL 900. The DT is 79" L x 24" W x 24" D. SPS Dominant is the plan. I have reviewed almost every thread , video, article and/or comment related to lighting and a PAR goal of 300-450 at 15" of tank depth around the 400 nm spectrum seems to be the best option for the growth I'm hoping for. Am I right is stating that no LED delivers this PAR value? The LED and T5 hybrids seem to have a reasonable spectrum coverage but again do not seem to deliver the PAR required. MH seems to be the way to go but the community doesn't seem to support MH as much as LED despite being less expensive and LED lacking the PAR delivery. To make things a little more challenging my DT is in my Family Room with open floor plan that includes the kitchen so I would like to have an aesthetically pleasing fixture that is as quiet as possible. MH Hybrid seems to be the way to go to have full spectrum coverage, PAR delivery and all coupled with a reasonable level of control ability options but most of the options I've seen look very industrial and loud (is there an 72-79" fixture in white anywhere that is reasonably quiet?). Hoping you guys can tell me what I'm missing and suggest a solution. I need to acquire the correct fixture, cost is always a consideration but not the priority. If I thought the new XR30 G5's would deliver the PAR, I would get them despite the high price tag . I have considered 2 Aquatic Life 36" dimmable hybrid fixtures with four of the XR30 G5s (2 in each) but again the PAR mapping I've seen falls way short of whats required (especially with the high price tag attached). Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance...
