I have a Neptune COR-20 that I want to connect to my 525. I’ve read elsewhere a hose should have been included; there wasn’t one. The inside diameter of the barbed fitting that came pre-attached to the plumbing is just over 1/2” 13.5mm). The lower portion of the barbed fitting has an outside diameter of just over 3/4” (21mm). I’m assuming a 3/4” inside diameter piece of vinyl tubing will make the connection, (though flow is restricted to 1/2” by the inside diameter of the fitting). Am I correct on the US market tubing size needed? I realize it might need heated to fit but assume a 1” would be too large. Thanks.

How did you end up connecting the COR 20 to your tank? I just got both and are on their way and would like to know what else I need to connect these 2.

Thanks!

I used one of the Neptune-supplied adapters into 3/4" PVC, into a 3/4" slip X threaded union, into a threaded barbed fitting, then to 3/4" braided vinyl tubing to connect to the barbed fitting on the Red Sea supplied return line's barbed fitting. I used a hose clamp on the return line but did not use a clamp on the pump side. I have a heat gun that I used to heat the tubing and the bottom fit was very tight without the clamp. I bought the items that I used from Bulk Reed Supply, excerpt from order below along with a photo. I'm no expert (first tank) but I'm happy to answer anything I can. Good luck!

Edit: Of course you will need PVC prep and glue for the slip fittings; I just got those at a local hardware store.
